With the growth of our society, DOS is looking to take on new volunteers to help run the Gear Library! The library is fully-stocked with outdoor gear, available for rent to all Dalhousie students. It has everything you need to get outdoors: full camping set-ups, bouldering pads, snorkel gear, surf boards, bike packs, hiking/skiing poles, and much much more! Operating the Gear Library requires a lot of time, dedication, and repairs, so we are looking for more volunteers.

 

Applications close April 1st. Positions starting May or September 2024, depending on applicants' availability.

 

The responsibilities of a member of the Gear Team include: 

1. Hosting one weekly Gear Library Office Hour for 1 semester 

2. Attending training and information sessions

3. Attending bi-weekly gear repair sessions 

4. Working closely with the other members of the Gear Team and the Gear Library Coordinator

The skills beneficial for a member of the Gear Team include: 

1. Dependable and responsible 

2. Able to work with a small group 

3. Effective communicator 

4. Experience with outdoor gear and gear repair
